Yen Burao is the Director of People and Finance at Kaya Founders, where she leads the firm’s internal operations—covering finance, compliance, people systems, and risk—while supporting portfolio companies as they build strong finance and HR foundations. She brings over 16 years of experience across venture capital, startup operations, and management consulting. Before joining Kaya, she helped scale Thumbtack’s Philippine office, served as Chief of Staff to U.S.-based founders, and led advisory and audit engagements at Grant Thornton Philippines across banking, BPO, and tech. Yen is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a BS Accountancy degree (cum laude) from the University of the Philippines Visayas. Born and raised in Iloilo, she is deeply committed to building systems and teams that enable founders—and communities—to thrive.
